Looks great! Much nicer than all four of the other Richmond stations.

Indeed. Easily the classiest looking station out of all the above-ground stations. That dark-black contrasting with the wood paneling excellent. Also love the little protruding "T" Translink sign design detail there.

Do we know if there was any design for dedicated drop-off/pick-up spots or roadway re-design in or around the station?

Edit: Found this, but its not very detailed in that aspect:

There's a kiss and ride in the corner but not sure how the access will work to it.

Maybe a right turn from No. 3 Rd.

The black paneling will show bird poop - so hopefully it'll be cleaned.

The stupid tiny home walkway is still thriving.

Different contractors? Perhaps the work had to be split up pre and post elevator install for the sake of scheduling and delay tolerance.

Now that the elevator on the south side of the station is complete, they've been doing work on the stairs and elevator on the north side of the station. They're also still in the process of adding new escalators, so I suspect the project as a whole is nowhere near completion.

It wouldn't surprise me if the hoarding around the south elevator entrance is because of electrical cables running overhead to support the escalator installation work.

Someone said the side entrance on the Chinatown station near Beatty has been closed for a while because of some problem with the metal awning over the entrance not being secure.

The horizontal beam detached from the wall about 6 months ago. The station had most of the roof glazing replaced over the past 2 years, but this side of the building hasn't had any work done yet. It's part way down the big staircase from Beatty down to the globe circle outside T&T. I'm not sure if they'll have to remove the entire roof, or whether that can install something more substantial to support the beam on either side. It probably depends on how corroded the beam is - the fixtures into the concrete have obviously rusted out.

Can't find any news post about this work at Edmonds beyond the station access alert on TransLink's website, but it's being highlighted on the platform-level displays in stations.

Quote:
Edmonds Station footbridge connecting westbound and eastbound platforms is undergoing maintenance starting May 13 for approx. 4 weeks.

The footbridge will remain open but at a reduced width. Customers crossing the bridge may have to form single file to cross the bridge in either direction.

From May 13 to May 24 the elevators will be inaccessible due to this maintenance.

I realize all these projects need to be done, but it seems like less-than-ideal timing to be doing this at the same time that King George Station is closed and they're single-tracking through the OMC4 construction.

That's probably to do with the gap/lip that has opened up in the floor there. There's been a caution sign there for at least the last 6 months.

This sounds like a minor inconvenience at the worst, there shouldn’t be any need to coordinate with the other projects.

A minor inconvenience to "Able bodied people" but a major inconvenience to the disabled who have to back track either Royal Oak or go past Edmonds get off at 22nd St and then take the eleavator down then go to the other elevator and then go back up and finally get on a train. That is a major inconvenience to the disabled community.

The Foot bridge has made the east bound flatform completely closed off to there disabled community.
