Honestly though, I'm not sure I'd consider that a trade publication. IRJ is a trade paper. Railway Age a trade paper. Even though its enthusiast targeted I would even consider Trains more of a trade publication.

E & E News is owned by Politico. Apparently, technical terminology is not their strong suite.

I generally do not like editorials or propaganda news articles.
But I did take the time to read it, and there was very little wrong with it.
It was not trying to be an engineering report or environmental impact study. It reported the facts Amtrak's NEC faces.
While reporting on the negative facts, it was suggesting more political support will be needed to improve the NEC, not just fix it.
