Underground Bowling Alley Demo

Here's the pics I grabbed this morning. I left them full-sized to be able to view any details up close. Unfortunately, there's not much you can see. To me, this was pretty much an Urban Legend without ever being able to see it with my own eyes.

Too bad, they were unable to salvage this and integrate it into the Realm development as an underground speak-easy. But I'm sure it was not possible.

Thanks Ronnie. Like I said earlier, I have to believe there are some decent photos and an evaluation of the underground bowling alley area when they initially refurbished the sidewalks above and installed that plaque several years ago. I imagine the information is somewhere within the City's HP office.

Thank you for the pics Crested! I usually park there for First Fridays and noticed the fence they last weekend. I think more people will be forced to use the light rail now. It would have been cool if they keep it for sure but like you said it they probably couldn’t.

The speakeasy and "underground storage tanks" ... which I'm sure were the illegal still was adjacent to the site they're digging out now on the hard corner directly south of the old block glass sidewalk. I'd keep your eyes on it.

Really annoying this isn't being more carefully dug out.

Thanks so much! Great timing for all of us and neat to see that!

I checked it out over the weekend and didn't see any features suggesting there was a passage further south of the basement. But I do wonder what's behind the corrugated metal panels that can be seen along the north, east, and west sides of basement. The site has still not been dug far enough out to expose what's under the glass sidewalk blocks. Maybe they'll be more slow and deliberate with that part?

Didn't see this article yesterday. Some of you may have already read it. 12 News posted an article about the underground bowling alley. Article includes video of what's left. Posting here for your enjoyment.

Did they recently wrap the entire lot? I don’t remember seeing the entire lot wrap up.

The wrap was on the Central Ave side of the lot. Is it around the 1st side now? If so, that's an indication of full construction soon.

What's going on with the grass in that pic? I see H2O etched toward the bottom. Hopefully not some sort of political statement.

There is currently an absurd and wildly exaggerated water scare at the moment.

Wettest couple of years in decades and all of a sudden we have a mass hysteria about water due to the 6 state compact that went into effect on Jan 1

The current Colorado Compact was signed in 2019 and is in effect till 2026. Not sure where you're getting january 1st from other than that's when Rio Verde Foothills was cut.

There was just an update to agree on cuts to better manage the Colorado - 6 of 7 states signed. Can you guess who didn't? That's right - California...
