I wish the early 20th century developers of the Woolworth Building had been more practical so we wouldn't have to look at that ugly detailed facade. Thankfully the nepotistic real estate cartel we have today in New York City is informed almost entirely by market demands.

I still think this tower would likely be completed, if only because the government doesn't want this unfinished eyesore to cause continuing embarrassment for them.

Has there been any movement on this thing? It seems to have fallen completely off the radar and even its Wikipedia page appears to have been scrubbed.

The situation unfolding at Evergrande reminded me of this project even though I don't believe they were involved, if anyone knows anything.....
