Are they finally going to take the weird tapestry off the front of the building now?

Pretty sure that building is U Arts, not Broad Street Ministry. I seem to recall they put the thing up around the time of their 150 year anniversary and have just had a cover on that building ever since. They've switched covers at least once at this point. It's kind of ugly, but I suspect they're planning on keeping it that way at this point.

UArts has an endowment of like $17.50. My thought on that big scrim is because they can't keep up the mangled facade of that building.

LOL on the endowment. Why hasn't some wealthy estate bequeath a boatload of money to UArts?

One did about 25 years ago which is what allowed them to redo their Broad & Walnut building and buy the former Social Security Building on Juniper Street after the Wash West Civic Assn nefariously killed the dorm tower they were going to build at 311 S Broad.

Thank you. Interesting history. UArts is due for another large monetary gift from someone wealthy that cares about the arts.

How big was said tower? Bigger than the SLS? I assume not.

It's a core pour.

At least two of the other sites with webcams (Penn's New College House West, The Laurel) still appear to be shut down.

Nope. Other than those with waivers and medical-related construction, all construction sites must be stabilized and shut down by 5pm, Fri 3/27. That still stands as of today.

Hopefully the Laurel applies for an exemption. There's never more than 4-6 people on the job site according to the webcam. The nature of the current work seems at a distance.
