IMO this is one of the better proposals in this cycle. Or it could be if the details are done thoughtfully. It has a classic base, shaft and hat to the design, but it's certainly a modern building. It's also a design which could gain or lose 5 or 6 floors and not be spoiled.

I was at the Arthaus topping event today, and Dranoff himself actually mentioned this building surprisingly. I believe he said to expect something next year, but the information they give is STILL extremely vague

Pretty sure Dranoff has said that he’d start building Broad + Pine after he was done with the Arthaus.

Once it’s finished and has sold some more units I’m sure we’ll see this one come down.

I really hope this happens (as depicted). It will be great to see this type of development stretch further South on Broad. Next is the Health Science Building.

This building is going to the Washington Square West Civic Association Zoning Committee for Civic Design Review on October 26. I can't find any renderings yet, but here are the specs:

Project description: 91 residential units, 18 car parking, 3000SF of retail space. Height: 196 feet, 14 stories plus penthouse

I'm fine with a height reduction as long as it's a looker.

A shame the above rendering is likely no longer. That looks to be 21 stories?

ITs a shame its not as tall, but 14 stories is still pretty good IMO. As long as the design is close to the renderings above I'm contempt with this.

Still wish it could be taller :/

Condos or apartments, or mixed?

I believe apartments, though the new count seems low. (might have changed).

I'm glad to see the infill and energy inching South, but I'm waiting for the next game changer project from Dranoff. He mentioned (to the press) he would be on to something big after Arthaus. I with the SLS deal didn't fall through, maybe it will locate somewhere else!

If its anywhere on the scale of Arthaus it would be incredibly, hopefully somewhere east of city hall, something that tall would really drag the skyline out

New Building at Broad & Pine Will Shrink, But Will Include More Units

A little more info from Naked Philly, looks like we will have more answers in the coming weeks.

Renderings were presented last night at the Washington Sq West meeting, which I viewed on Jay's fb group page. I'm sure he will post here. I don't think you guys will like the new plan for the site. Dranoff went back to the architect for Symphony House, ditched the older plan entirely.

While I continue to be of the opinion that people don't really want to live directly on Broad Street (or even necessarily within a block or so of it either way), I am still extremely disappointed by...that. Bleh.

Dranoff back to his native ways.

Looks like a mid-rise Cheesecake Factory at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas.

Ugh, any reason why he ditched the old look (and architect) entirely? I would prefer a glass building like Cathedral Place, boring, but at least not ugly. When will the Mormons build another tower? The Alexander is still one of the best newer residential towers in the city. Arthaus is great too, but I guess a one-off for Dranoff.

Hopefully he was sent back with criticisms and will improve the design.

Which is a shame because Broad Street should be Philadelphia's Park Avenue or Michigan Avenue, and it easily could be with some vision...
