I sure hope they didn't transpose the 1 and the 2.

Meaning typo? I asked to make sure, and I was told it's correct - the project has grown in size.

580 units implies something big.

The project is named Camden Conte.

The company said it did not yet have a start date for the second project it is proposing, a downtown complex expected to be built in two phases on about three acres. Camden recently spent $15.6 million on the land.

Is that for the 8-story building or the two 21-story apartments?

I thought that the 8 and 12-story buildings were scrapped for the two 21-story buildings.

I think this is the McGowen Station (Midtown). The Conte is closer to Downtown.

Hmmm, what's so confusing about the picture? The buildings on the site for the first 21-story tower were demolished, 1521 Austin Street. If this was 8-stories it would not be in the high-rise proposal thread lol.

Camden Conte is in Downtown.

The block with demolition taking place is across from Root Memorial Square and catty corner to the Toyota Center.

I'll have to look for it.

McGowen Station is apparently supposed to happen in Q4.

This project may again be 2 x 12 stories, if HBJ is to be believed. Still listed as a Q1 2015 start date.

This looks so similar to the Catalyst. Is it by the same architect?

Ziegler Cooper has added this development to their online portfolio and has high quality renderings up. They also wrote about it in a publication that can be found on issuu.com.

You can follow the development to stay up to date with any new information at https://www.buzzbuzzhome.com/camden-downtown
