They provide shelter for the workers who are building that top floor, or top part of a core. Part of a climbing form

Terra Cotta-Coloured Cladding Installed on Optima II

Quote:
The second tower in the Optima Chicago Center complex continues to climb as glazing begins installation on the lower floors. At 54 storeys, Optima II at 220 East Illinois Street will be taller than its 42-storey predecessor. Its extra height permits space for more units — 381 in total compared to the 325 in the completed building.

^ So it def has a greenish look to it...but not quite sure if its more of a blue green?...its hard to tell from the pictures....Either way I def like the change up from the standard...thank god someone has the bravado to experiment with different glass colors.

Looked pretty teal when i walked by yesterday... Teal and Red has to be one of the ballsiest color combos. Hope they can pull it off without it looking cheesy.

If you're looking for cheesy, shift your glance a few degrees toward Lowes, which looks likes an amusement park. This just looks like bold modernism.
