Went to Chronical last night, place was dead! Don't expect it to be busy on a tuesday night, but there were like 5 people in there. Food was bland, beer was ok. The space is really nice though!

Try EC Fusion & Lounge. Lots of free parking too. Be comfortable eating with your hands.

Looks like the old Halo restaurant on McLeod by the movie theater is going to now be called "Canyon Public House".

I don't recall if the restaurant in between this one and Halo ever opened.

Chronicles appears to be closed already hah. Haven't noticed any movement there in a few weeks, and theres a big 'For Lease' banner out front.

Anyone know of any establishment in Calgary which offers mulled wine? Google only brings up Lounge 18, and sadly they do not actually offer it anymore.

I know Una used to do it. Anywhere with a good cocktail program I'm willing to bet would do it.

Eating the F@#$%k'n Turduckin! sandwich from Meat & Bread, good stuff. Interesting place, they crank the music and are kinda pushy with the extras (salads, expensive pop etc.), but are very friendly.

I couldn't find a more appropriate section to post this but The Back Alley is coming back

https://dailyhive.com/calgary/back-a...t-club-calgary

“We intend to make it a bigger and better Back Alley. The inside of the bar is extremely nice and very well appointed with nice seating upscale amnesties etc,” says Turner. “We plan to keep that but bring it back to The Back Alley where there is more of an anything-goes mentality, as long as it’s fun.”

Turner says patrons can expect music ranging from pop and Top 40 to rap, rock, metal, and punk.

“If it’s popular and fun, we will be playing it. We will also play tons of videos,” says Turner. “We are bringing in an absolute state-of-the-art light show that is exclusive to Calgary for over the dance floor that will be awesome.”

As for food, The Back Alley will offer grub from Grumans Delicatessen.

The team is hoping to aim for an opening date at the end of November. We’ll keep you posted as details are released!
