Another floor of facade went up:

For the foodies, I thought it was worth mentioning/showing that Bardea Steak on Market Street (a stone's throw from this site) is nearing completion. If you didn't know, the chef from Bardea (which is next door - bottom photo, building w/ turret) was recently nominated for a James Beard Award for the Mid-Atlantic region - now a semi-finalist. The new steakhouse might end up being the best in the state. The Inquirer's Craig LaBan gave a solid review for Bardea recently - for subscribers only though: https://www.inquirer.com/columnists/...-20220318.html

Looking good!

I highly recommend Bardea. I had one of their steaks last month and was blown away (by it and everything else about the place). Looking forward to the new spot

Nearly completed now - just needs glass for the top floor amenity level. According to their new IG page, first residents will be moving in for the fall.

The Quoin - hotel/rooftop bar, ground floor restaurant will be operated by Philly's Method Hospitality (who runs the boutique hotel above WM Mulherin's and Sons - this place is going to be awesome for Wilmington. Also, the restaurant will add to what is a really solid line-up of fine dining restaurants along Market Street (La Fia, Bardea, Bardea Steak, Le Cavalier, apparently Bardea is also opening a vegan restaurant as well, Merchant Bar....), you can eat very well in downtown Wilmington now.

The amenity space is mostly enclosed now (in glass that's colored differently than the rest of the bldg, annoyingly). I noticed some of the rooms on the lower floors are finished. The mid-rise looks almost done

Amen summers! I’m still surprised how few Philly developers (well none), seem to be jumping into the Wilmington market. There are surface parking lots downtown and an entire eastside of the Riverfront ripe for new residential development. All of BPG and Capano new luxury apartments go for basically the same rates as a lot of Philly luxury apartments (especially in surrounding Center City neighborhoods). I inquired about apartments at this building - Crosby Hill - and they are $1400 (studio); 1700-1800 (one bedroom); over 2000 (for 2 bedrooms). Let’s goo Philly developers, come on down to Wilmington.

It will come. No doubt in my mind Philly developers will come at some point in the near future.

I think we can safely move this one over to the Completed thread - there are definitely people living here now. I did a little walk around on this frigid morning.

And finally from Market Street - The Quoin looks awesome!
