Arrow Anthony Henday Drive

Does anyone have any pics of this great highway? Is the SE section almost ready for traffic. I cannot wait to drive down that wonderful stretch of highway!

the SE portion of this ring road is what they are referring to...

The SW, W and E sections are already complete - the SE will complete this fall. all thats left is the north section (anything north of yellowhead basically on this ring)

I live in St. Albert, but I have not seen whether or not they have completed the regional bypass road - anyone know if they are finished this? Maybe I should drive by tonight... great if you want to go North and bypass both EDM and St. Albert

The full west regional road is far from completed. I think you can only still make it to 137 ave...then have to go to 184st...

The rest should be ready to go soon though, to the first intersection north of big lake

I heard that the se leg opens on the 23rd of September, or was that just a small portion of it?

I can't wait till AHD SE opens.. hopefully it helps a little with 23rd ave traffic. Just driving around the SE now.. like on 91st, Parsons road, 66 St, it just feels like a whole new area with the freeway and interchanges.

Just curious.. does anyone know what work is being done on AHD right by the Windermere development? It looks like some kind of interchange or something

^ Really?? When do they plan on doing that? Wouldn't it be more wise to use that money to upgrade the 2 existing intersections that need interchanges in the west end instead?

The West Bypass I read in the Gazette is supposed to open to Meadowview drive later in September. It will then open to Giroux road sometime in mid October. I heard the late opening was due to CN taking along time to complete the train crossing portions. I can't wait, the Giroux portion will help me out as I live in Erin Ridge.

I heard today that the West Bypass road is now a provincial responsibility and it will take over the Highway 2 designation from St.Albert Trail.

I was at the North Anthony Henday open house today and they showed all the plans from Yellowhead to Yellowhead, including the changes around the seminary college. All in all pretty impressive.

Construction is to begin in the summer of 2008 with completion scheduled for November of 2011.

Nice to see that 90% of the Henday will be complete....I dont understand why Mandel is bitching.....we will have over 90% complete while Calgary has a glorified Yellowhead tr for apx 50%...

He's bitching because the money for the future isn't divided the right way for our city. I come back and say to you that Calgary could have a road like ours but they spent there money of LRT instead. Now that is our next major project while theres is now the ring road.
