This building is going to have really nice floorplates from a leasing perspective. It's going to be amazing with 10' ceilings (though their marketing now says 9' 6" which sucks, looks like more VE) and equal core to wall distance all the way around the floor.

Hah, I'm surprised to hear that you use a van. I'll keep a lookout.

I'd think the tower crane would show up next month......

Photo taken around 2:30 Friday. They appear to be poring more concrete for the core, and something is going on bottom right.

My guess it's framing out the area for the bed of the trees. Gotta leave depth in the soil for the roots i would imagine.

Anyone want to guess on the remaining life span of that horrible parking garage on the SE corner of this block? I'll say 5 years max before it's leveled.

They are flying on that building along Lake St.

That is the famous Bat-Man garage !

It has a great light shaft allowing ventilation while the form follows the function of a pair of corkscrews for cars nested seamlessly together.

I would be surprised if it was torn down within the next 10 years. There are easier, cheaper, and better spots all around the city.

This was making the rounds a little while ago, so not out of the question:

Unfortunately, maybe forever? I believe the CNA tower developer bought the air rights over it. I used to walk by this garage everyday for work. They spent over a year renovating/jackhammering/replacing concrete/painting the thing a couple of years back.
