This is nadir Foster. This is going to be an infliction. The rinse and repeat Pelli is multitudes better than this.

Give it chance lol!

Might turn out to be one of the greats. Sometimes designs grow on people.

That certainly happened with the twins...

The nicest thing I can say is that the interiors look nice. I suppose if my company was in this building, I might appreciate it.
My thoughts exactly!

Not sure we need these trees at street level…

What's wrong with trees at the street level? I doubt they will ever grow that big or dense because of all the shadows.

Because many parts of New York, especially Midtown Manhattan, are the kind of epic urbanism that is, in my opinion, slightly diminished when good intentioned parties try to shoehorn nature into them, especially when there is no historic precedent for them. Just look at historic photos of the city, I think one could make a fair argument we're already over-treed, certainly much ofthe boroughs are overgrown.

^ Yes, trees are good in the right locations. The City has a plan for a canopy of trees down 5th Avenue, but that’s on hold for now. And thankfully. This is a very congested area, I don’t want more things in the way. But beyond that, the aesthetics of the Manhattan canyon are off. Trees in a plaza are fine, or on more open Avenues.

Meanwhile, preparations are being put in place for final demolition.

Fuck, there's scaffolding going up around the Hotel Pennsylvania. One of the last Beaux Arts buildings in the city, and the home of so many HOPE gatherings,
is about to die an unceremonious, lonely death.

Nice to see a model. From the crown, looks like an older version, but virtually the same.

I still think that having trees on terraces that high up in New York is a pipe dream and potential hazard for the streets below.

On 2 WTC, the trees high up are clearly enclosed in glass cubes. There must be pretty high glass on the open areas of this building to prevent suicides and things falling 1,200’ onto city streets.
