I saw on the news last night the city fined the developer of The Sutton over $350,000 for setting the up crane (shown in the 2nd picture) in the middle of Peachtree without bothering to get any permission/permit.

definitely warranted.

developers in atlanta don't think twice about screwing the flow of vehicle or pedestrian traffic.

maybe that's starting to change with more city enforcement and citizen reporting of violations to 311.

Yeah, it took them days to get reported on. The whole things sounds fishy to me. Cops were there every damn day.

The owner of the white building sandwiched between these two must be kicking himself for not selling to one of the two developers. Now his plot is useless, who would build anything on it with no views, and the billboard doesn't get much eyeballs anymore blocked by two buildings.

They are not above ground. They installed a crane last week.

Geez, that is so ugly. Why can’t developers commit to just one finish material?

That's what Tim Keane calls a "Mr. Potatohead" building and it's because they try to disguise the inappropriate design/massing/finishing of a building by giving it 50 different aesthetic treatments to "break it up."
