I’m also just now remembering the city recently dissolved the Saint John parking commission so I’m beginning to think this is nothing more the transfer of ownership from the commission to the city.

Also many properties adjacent to these have been selling in recent months but seem to be independent of these packages. It very well could be the same buyer though.
Parking Commission was folded into city government, which would explain the city-owned lots in the $539K bucket. The Peel parking garage is included with the Charlotte lots and Station St.

130 Union and 10 Germain are privately owned-- and 10 Germain is a building. Sold together though. I hope the new owner makes better use of 130 Union.

7 Charlotte is the Waterton's building, which was bought independently AFAIK.

23 Charlotte is the comic book store. No idea.

EDIT: took too long to pull up the Property Assessment site.

Public Hearing January 10th

35 Water Street (phase 1 Fundy Quay) to increase building heights to 60 and 70 metres (by my calculation 16 and 20 stories)

Lot between Princess and Leinster on Crown St - 35 unit apartment building 21 metres (6 stories). Comeau and MacKenzie design

Exciting to see a proposal of that size for the lot between Princess and Leinster, it’ll really help extend the residential draw of the Courtenay Bay side of the peninsula even further

So it's probably going to look like The Atlantic... maybe they'll get away with the sheet metal siding this time?

Not sure if this has been posted before but it's a video of Saint John from a helicopter in 1977.

The New Brunswick capital budget will be released on December 7th, less than two weeks away! The biggest item in this budget that Saint John is looking for is money for a new south-end school. Earlier this year the province ranked the school third on their priority lists. Do you think we will see it in the budget?

With all local MLA’s in the PC party and the disappointment it wasn’t announced last year, hopefully this will be the budget for it. It’s the last missing piece to having uptown as one of the most desirable neighborhoods to live

We had tons of PC MLAs before (except Gerry Lowe of course) and they cancelled/denied tons of stuff, like the new NB Museum location, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

The south end school is desperately deserved and the investment from the city in the project in terms of pre-planning, studies, and even architecture work are far beyond what any other municipality in the province has ever undertaken. If they don't get the school then the provincial government's mishandling of SJ and urban NB in general has taken on a whole new level.

The museum was Liberal pre-election pork promises, the school is an absolute necessity.

Got a letter in the mail regarding the lot at 166 Leinster (Crown between Princess and Leinster. 35 units, 64 bedrooms, 6 storey plus underground parking.

Presumably in PAC docs this Friday. Height and setback variance. Very visually similar- almost identical actually- to the Atlantic, which I am leery of. Fervently hoping this looks neither like a corrugated warehouse or the cardboard box the Atlantic ended up being.

I've heard there's [some sort of leak] at the Atlantic already, which bodes ill.

On the upside it has only three surface parking spots, fills the lot well (should be built right out to the property line, and seems to be kind of an interesting shape.

I believe I read somewhere it’s in the January PAC, but who knows. Any pic of rendering you can share? Most likely Mike Cavanagh again if it’s similar.

A picture of the layout would be greatly appreciated.
