When the entire crown is lit, it will blow my mind.

Just perfect

I don't know how the final product will look like, but so far it is the best supertall built in NYC since the Empire state building. A good looking modern skyscraper perfectly located which takes its inspiration from the glorious architectural past of the City. I have to add that the cladding is just perfect.

Thank You NYguy, again, for the different perspectives of this great tower. It is great to see it from different angles and locations. Your foot work and talent are appreciated from afar. I can hardly wait for the posts with full night light lighting of the completed spire, however, seeing its construction documented so well is very fun to watch as well.

Literally a new level of super tall skyscrapers is gracing the New York skyline with One Vanderbilt to add the jewel to the crown!

I really like the triple-spire interplay with BofA and Chrysler from this viewpoint.

Really does look like it's been there all along.

Reality looks much better than renderings in this case, which appeared awkward at the crown. It's really growing on me, more complimentary to the Chrysler than overwhelming it. Looks fabulous from Bryant Park, which is one of the nicest spots to view the skyline from within.

Great photo of NY skyline and Vandy. Looks like NY is town reborn with all these new towers, it seems far more modern now compared to 5 years ago.

Now I want them at some immediate future point to abandon that schmaltzy patriotic lighting at Bloomberg's parapet.

The spire one 1 Vandy is so beautifully integrated into the building's architecture. It doesn't feel like an element tacked on to increase the height.

Funny thing is if you look at the pic, Citigroup Center aka 601 Lexington Avenue is a 915 foot tower. 731 Lexington Avenue is slightly over 800 ft. They just do not stand out. When a 915 foot tower barely stands out, thats good news!!!

Also, lets look at 10 Hudson. Can we even see it...

At 895 ft, surely doesn't stand out at all.

The Midtown Plateau use to be 600 ft, now it is inching up to the 800/850 mark.

That will probably happen before the MTA realizes they don't need to actually plaster giant stickers of our nations flag on every single bus and train car to show they are proud to be Americans and will never forget 9/11.
