This building will have such a great presence in the south loop skyline.

The South Loop alone will soon have a skyline more impressive than most midsized cities. Cant wait to see this go vertical.

^ thanks for the update!

I'm so glad this one will be going properly vertical for many months to come just as the fun over at Salesforce is winding down.

Since 2015 we've been treated to a non-stop stream of 700 footers reaching for the sky.

What. A. Ride.

Chicago has added so much in the last 5-10 years it's crazy. I think we have potential to see decently tall buildings U / C for the next 5 years at least too if 400LSD, Parcel I and Tribune get built, and a few other proposals that are less solidified (like 3-321 Wacker Drive, 130 N Franklin, NEMA II etc.). Maybe the 78 site and Lincoln Yards etc. can yield more 700+ towers.

Chicago is the slow and steady guy in the race but that's not a bad thing.

That core is really hugging the north wall of the neighboring building. Is this supposed to be part of the parking podium? I must not understand construction but I'm assuming cars aren't going to be passing between the core and the exterior wall there.

I think it is offset like that because of the cantilever. The cars all live in the attached parking deck west of the main tower mass.

That makes sense. Do we know what will surround that offset core? Amenities? Units?

There will be apartments in the front of the building on the lower floors.

You can look at most of the plans here—-

Well, I was wrong. This one is still going slow and steady. The third floor of the core went up faster and I thought they were going to keep up that pace. Guess not.

Today

This is a pano, so it's a little distorted
