Well yes. The minimum price for a condo at No. 9 Walton went for just over $3M this makes sense and there's been 21 of those sales since mid March alone. There was a sale of nearly $6M the other day there. I think the building is actually sold out now or nearly sold out. Jason Heyward, Omer Asik, Ken Griffin, etc have all bought here.
from the link, it might be sold out now if the 6M was purchased for 5.7M.
Only one unit isn't sold, according to Letchinger. Its asking price is $5.7 million. If it sells for $3 million or more and all the contracted deals close, No. 9 Walton will have 61 units sold for at least $3 million each.
The building has 68 units, including four full-floor units bought by Citadel's Ken Griffith for a total price of more than $58 million...

So if it’s sold out, then the OCS condos will be a fresh batch for these developers and they can focus all of their marketing on selling these. I have to say that these are going to have some of the highest price points of any condos downtown, probably rivaling Vista Tower

If I were a betting man I'd put OCS and WPS as the most likely to get built, with 400 LSD(Spire) close behind and hopefully not VE'd. I'm most suspicious about Tribune getting built even though I'd really like for a new second tallest to usurp the Trump throne(but that's mostly out of pettiness).

WPS is a safe bet because Hines is behind it and it's such a high profile location but construction wont start until after WPE is completed so (cautiously speaking) a lot can happen between then and now. There is no doubt though that in 5 years the skyline will look dramatically different in the most awesome way possible. OCS will arguably have the biggest impact skyline wise. Exciting times!

It's important to note that you don't want to be stuck without inventory when you have this kind of momentum as a developer. JDL needs to get OCS rolling so they don't miss out on sales that were attracted by their No. 9 marketing efforts. They are probably already making a handful of presales for this building given they ran out of product up the street.
This is my favorite of all the proposed supertalls in Chicago by far, so I hope it happens. Love the setbacks. This building has a very classic, timeless appearance that fits the city it is in, without trying too hard.
A lot of people here are focused on its effect on the skyline, etc etc. I know, it’s SSP so that goes with the territory.
But for me it’s always been about Chicago and State. It’s a sad intersection for such a great city. It really just needs to stop being a dumb ass parking lot. When I’m at Michigan and Chicago looking west, I need to not see the so much empty space. I need to see vast towers and their oppressive shadows. Post haste. We are all getting old, and we need to get on with the city building.

Same. I REALLY hope they don't deviate from the current design.

^ Don't worry, it's JDL not Related Midwest handling this
But in all seriousness, yes I also hope they stick with the current design. Its pretty awesome, and I'm sure any deviation from it would not be in this project's benefit, design wise.
