Nice, Transco Tower getting a proper little brother. Completion date 2024.... good chance O&G has recovered and the 610 upgrade is complete.

Hopefully this pans out. There've been a lot of proposals for that lot but cautiously optimistic if it has a spring groundbreaking date.

Hell yeah!

Looks like a replacement for the terrible embassy suites. Good riddance.

The Embassy Suites is like 8 years old. I think completed in 2012. It's not going anywhere but this building will wrap around it and hide that monstrosity.

Also, this building is pretty good looking. I really like it. Wish it was 40 stories taller.

Really surprised it's another office building with the glut, but Skanksa knows what they are doing. As I mentioned about the proposed McNair residential, probably trying to time it for when O&G/commodities come back.

Discovery Green will finally be surrounded by buildings instead of surface parking lots. The site of the new office, from Triton on HAIF

The original embassy suites design was much better looking. That’s value engineering for ya! I can’t wait for it to be covered up.

Right now I think Life Tower is going up, but I haven't seen news on the Horizon tower. But that will be an impressive project when complete.

I absolutely adore 1550 on the green but I am anxious about high office vacancies. I kind of wish it was residential instead.

Stella Link Mixed-Used Development by Barvin

Hat tip to Highrise Tower on HAIF for the find, http://www.agorapartners.com/stella-link
Quote:
Agora was hired by Barvin to advise on how to integrate the public realm into a new mixed-use development inside the Loop in Houston, Texas. Agora is advising Barvin on issues both within the project site, including connectivity and programming its public spaces, and outside the project site by optimizing the project’s proximity to a greenway. The project will eventually have hundreds of market-rate apartments and approximately 75,000 square feet of retail.
Sounds like trying to take advantage of the proximity of the TMC, great location for a medium sized mixed use project.

And the property north has been sold:

I like that the buildings on Westheimer are more reasonably scaled for the area and the high-rises are more set back.

Is that where Mattress Firm/ Half Price Books are? That shopping center? As nice as this is, I am torn because underneath is an art deco façade that could be brought back to life. Still, that is an amazing project.
