I cant imagine that wont be addressed with the Charity Renovation, but my guess is given the amount of construction work about to commence this will be timed to happen when its finished

Chick-fil-A is on a roll in Orleans Parish. Another location should be coming to the property Sidney Torres recently purchased at Tulane & Carrollton.

$450M Superdome renovation likely to take a year longer due to 'current financial situation'

https://www.nola.com/sports/saints/a...2e050c0a3.html

The multi-year, $450 million renovation of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome likely will take a year longer than originally proposed because of coronavirus-related budget shortfalls.

A detailed and concrete timeline will depend on the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District's revenue rebounding, said ASM Global's business operations director Evan Holmes.

Holmes said Wednesday during a House Appropriations Committee meeting that they "took a step back from the renovation project," and Thursday afternoon he clarified those comments to The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate.

"My comment about stepping back does not suggest that we're stepping back as in running away from the project," Holmes said. "It was in the sense that we took a step back to evaluate the project given the current financial situation."

Because of the pandemic, the LSED lost nearly $75 million in revenue, Holmes said. Sixty-five percent of the LSED's operating budget comes from hotel occupancy taxes, and 35% comes from events at the facilities it manages. Most of those events, like concerts, festivals, and special events — such as hosting the Harlem Globetrotters, monster truck rallies and SEC and NCAA-sanctioned sporting events — were canceled in the past year.

Saints and the Pelicans games were held as scheduled, but attendance took a nosedive because of COVID-related restrictions.

I really hopes its a high rise. To be honest I hope it’s as tall or taller than the Odeon. Personally I want to see more hight in the city, taller more modern buildings. For the most part the skyline looks straight out of the 1970s- 1980s so I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing a full blue glass building rising up

Kind of understand, but all glass buildings are def on the way out as a trend these days. A reversion to buildings with more material diversity on the cladding is the future.

cool to see. New Orleans could certainly use more of this...

High above the streets of New Orleans a garden blooms on the rooftop of the S&WB building

https://www.nola.com/multimedia/phot...2f6d367.html#1

The Sewerage and Water Board downtown building at St. Joseph Street and St. Charles features a green roof, which can store up to 15,450 gallons of rain water before releasing it into the city's drainage system. Green infrastructure like this helps the gray infrastructure, which includes things like pipes and pumps. Green roofs and other types of green infrastructure help slow down and hold storm water, which eases the burden on the city's aging infrastructure. It also adds an attractive element to urban landscapes and helps local species of plants and insects thrive.

Five years ago, the Sewerage and Water Board began work on their green roof and today the Environmental Department is seeing the fruits of their - and their partner organizations' - labor. The gardens feature Louisiana Irises, Calla Lillies, creeping phlox, sage, aloe vera and much more. Sewerage and Water Board Senior Planners, Grace Vogel and Cameron Bonnett, check the roof often to see what's working and to make future plans for plantings.

Every drop makes a difference when it comes to slowing the flow of stormwater. Residents can find resources and share ideas at www.everydropnola.com

Congratulations to our field team at LSU Health Sciences Center for the perfect setting of the recently installed Animal Transport Bridge. This bridge sits on two concrete piers between the 8 story Clinical Sciences Research Building and Medical Education Building on a major street through the campus. Assistant Superintendent Tyler O'Brien laid out the piers/bolt connections with nothing more than meticulous accuracy and a tape measure. The bridge was installed in less time than expected due to the perfect layout. Thank you Tyler and the rest of our LSUHSC team for your excellent quality control on this portion of the project!

That is the Popeyes on Canal.

Unrelated that new build on Chatres is bad, I hope the planning commission makes them actually try to do something more interesting.

The rendering doesn't match the elevations so I'm not sure what's going on there. Plus the size of the brick in the rendering is way off. The image is the typical NOLA-style St Joe brick, but the size is more like utility brick. I can't imagine HDLC will let them use utility brick so maybe it's just a glitch they didn't bother to fix.

The building shown in the elevations actually looks decent - 2 residential buildings, townhouse style with front doors and stoops, 2 more residential buildings behind that off an alley, and then a more office-style building at the upriver end.

I noticed it doesnt match the description either so kind of confused. Unless its really playing with angles and perspective.
