Love these skinny commercial buildings

I don’t know what it is, I guess it reminds me of stuff I’d see walking around Soho back in my NYC days...sans the decorative detailing. I would look at these buildings and think, “Today nobody builds stuff like this, especially outside of Manhattan”. Yet here comes the West Loop with its unique set of demand and site constraints to make such projects economical

3800 block of North Broadway (at Sheridan)

Gradually beginning to see the ground floor retail space emerge.

Millie is okay, but I’d have rather the row homes stayed.

I toured the interior of the old County Hospital recently. incredible building. One thing that’s sad though is the stair stepped operating theaters will be closed off and un-renovated as they are complicated spaces to adapt for code reasons. Maybe one-day they’ll see a creative use

They are located where that blanked out brick section is above the columns on either end of the building

Huge six corners project gets shot down by Alderman

10 story project shot down. Sigh.... too bad Arena lost

https://therealdeal.com/chicago/2019...his-privilege/

What ever happened to Lightfoot putting an end to Aldermanic prerogative?

Seriously, she's off to a very mediocre start in my book. Looking more and more like a one term mayor with each passing month
