So, does anyone know if 520 Mateo still happening? Definitely one of the more exciting projects going up in the city, but with the whole bribery issue I've heard people calling for it to be canceled.

The last I heard they have been actively working the site and digging a hole for the last 6 months. It should be under construction by the end of the year.

Someone at SSC posted about demo work at the site of the Olympia, is it possible that these start soon? That would be incredible if so.

Looks like they're getting that building cleared away ahead of time, raising that property's value for quicker construction for some future project, (hopefully Olympia).

Same. I dont care for it either, but anything over 25 stories on that lot is a win. It could've been far stumpier or um, 7 stories.

Yeah The Grand improves that whole area substantially, pulls downtown further N.East and has a little canyon already. This is just the start of a majorly expanding skyline.

Definitely. You can already see it from Echo Park/Silverlake hills. The skyline will feel much more more complete.

^ Amazing. Taken from the top floor of the Emerson?

That project is such a game changer for downtown. That empty lot was such a eye sore.

This thing sprung up very quickly.

I like how people are screaming doom and gloom for downtowns everywhere when we are still seeing a steady flow of ground breakings and construction , minus oceanwide which is for a totally different reason. Just waiting for somebody to buy that one up.

2021, regardless of what happens on November 3rd, should be an awesome time for LA. Crenshaw line, the few ground breakings we do have, hopefully a vaccine, things should chug along just fine.

Anybody have a list of projects that are supposed to break ground Q3-4 of this year and all of 21? the fig center tower should be soon ? honestly the one project I'm most excited about.
