Warwick RI is nice but they make the list and not Bristol? Nashua over Portsmouth? Nice to see Albany and Buffalo on there though.

Agree with Pittsburgh .. Loved my 10 years living in the area. Surprised to see Buffalo make the list but not Rochester, NY.

Clearly too much emphasis is placed on cost of housing here. For instance, nobody in their right mind would pick Quincy, Nashua, Worcester, or Framingham over Boston/Cambridge/Somerville.

I went to school in Lowell and like the city well enough, probably more than the average person, but again no.... Just no. It's a garbage list.

I have a hard time thinking of Pittsburgh as being the in the northeast. How do you judge Pittsburgh against Newport, RI? Totally different regions...apples to oranges.

Pittsburgh seems as much part of the northeast as Buffalo. But the Midwest is probably the worst regional designation in the US. It's not the middle. Nor is it the west. There region doesn't share much of an origin story. And there's little consensus on the geography of it.

When you divide the country into 4 mega-regions, there's going to be a lot of variation.
