Agreed. If not a mural, I always wonder if they could paint fake windows (or window frames) on those blank walls - would that be a code violation?

I don't personally like fake windows, but something...

From bKL. This one turned out pretty much like the renderings.

I wanted to say that it came out better than I expected, but it came out looking exactly like the rendering, so....as expected. I like it. You can't discern the parking portion, (does it even have above ground parking?) and as I've said before, it has one of the nicest and modest podiums in town. The color choice is similar to what 405 Colorado went with, albeit in a MUCH bigger way. And love that cloud catching reflection.

The parking is all underground. So kudos to the developers for that.

Why is that the only angle anyone ever photographs this building from?

It is not-so-attractive from that angle. It's so fat. And the pinstripes are meh. Hopefully, it looks better at night/from further away/when it's all finished.

Every time I see this from the east/west I think "man that's skinny" and then when I see it north/south it's "why is it so stumpy and fat?"

I really think that's why the original glamour shot we saw was at a crazy, distorted angle. When you see it from a more normal angle or distance, it's definitely squatter and less elegant.

Looking at it, I feel like it was designed and planned during the era of the 300' plateau. I feel like now, 3-5 years later, we can probably say that that 355' underutilizes a full half block in Austin, TX.

Well, at least next to the Westin, it stands tall. I do think it has decent height and presence, and it is interesting to look at. The view from 6th is impressive and I prefer that angle from the other one which looks too busy to me. I imagine you see something different around every corner with this one. I am on the fence with the pinstripes, but leaning on liking rather than disliking them. Like the Quincy, I think this one is an important add to the skyline. That spot needed this.
