Here's a big new rendering. Feel free to resize it yourself.

Where did the rendering come from, Hill Country?

I had just figured this out right before you posted and was about to comment again...

Maybe we should take them seriously then, as this firm had a hand in all of the following:

W Hotel and Residences
Four Seasons Residences
Gables Park Plaza
Cirrus Logic

The rendering and design are not by them, but they have it on their own website. If you click there, you'll notice they're only doing:

Quote:
Site Development Permits
Off-site Water and Wastewater Extensions
Dry Utility Coordination
Water Quality and Detention Pond Design
Storm Sewer Design
Stream Bank Restoration
In other words, the design is already done by someone else and they're moving it along in practice for all intents and purposes. We may actually be able to take this project seriously.

I see Urbannizer used his editing privileges and shrunk my giant rendering. I kinda' liked the big in your face version.

I love it. This is exactly what Austin needs to shake things up. It looks just enough like the other buildings we have, but is still different and bold.

I'm late to the party, but wow, I'm impressed. This needs to take place.

Well, I think it is the sexiest building site in all of Austin. I guess maybe the Chain Drive will finally close its doors. They must have the longest running six month lease in downtown Austin.

I think this is a great site for a massive project. You have density to the north west and will have more density with the Fairmont and as waller creek redevelops. Being so massive and 3 buildings will help center it and link the Rainey skyline with the rest of downtown better.

Viewing it from the Zilker Clubhouse. The tallest tower is farthest south. The southern edge of the tallest tower would be just to the right of the Four Seasons Hotel here. It would be well to the left of The Shore, remember, the Hotel Van Zandt will be between The Shore and the tallest tower in this development. So that gap will be at least partially filled in. I used Google Earth to see where it would sit. The tallest tower is on that lot north of that small apartment complex that zigzags through its lot.

I wasn't having much luck trying to superimpose the new rendering into my photo. The towers also need to be "mirrored" so that the tallest tower is farthest to the right (south) in the "image".
