They really do need to light the Austonian's crown. For all intentions and purposes, it's really tied with the Independent in general height, just looks bleak when it's so dark compared to other towers.

Yeah, I miss the blue ring and the crescent backlighting inside the crown. I thought it was really beautiful actually.

That CVC is so obvious and pretty cool, that is if you are exactly where that drone is at the same height and angle. Most of the time my feet are on the ground though. Who exactly benefits from it?

All the people whose windows face its boundary, because they will always have magnificent views. All the people walking within it, because they will always have an open view of the sky. All the people driving past the end of it, because they will always have that view of the capitol dome, as well as of the uniqueness of the corridor itself.

This is one of my favorite CVC's. Can you not see the Capital from the bridge? I have never been on that bridge yet.

Great photos Jason!

You can see the Capitol dome from the surface of the bridge, but it is much more prominent with a little elevation.

Do you have different resolution settings on our camera? Some of your photos are a little grainy, but these two are beautiful!

I drive down the bridge every day, you can definitely see the capitol dome from it from just about the entire length of the bridge. The only thing that obstructs a part of the CVC is the mechanical box on top of the Faulk library and a moon tower

I believe the actual CVC is from the Lamar bridge.

we can be heros

A new film from Robert Rodriguez just posted a trailer on Netflix. Since it was filmed here, we get shots of Austin. The first frame of the trailer has us being invaded.

Here's a screen grab of the first frame. It looks like it is from 3rd street looking east next the state garage.

So were the Spy Kids movies. The 3D one where they were fighting in the US capital was actually filmed in Austin's Capital District because it can pass off as DC from most angles.

It could be over editing or because I am posting photos from facebook and it really degrades the quality. I use to use flickr but they changed the sign in and I havent been able to access it since.

I got me a drone! Here are some of my first shots. I probably could have gotten some better quality shots using manual mode, but I was focusing more on learning how to fly it. There definitely will be more to come.
