I count 19 floors, so just over halfway up.

In context with Concerto and Hanover Tower

I count 23 floors, so still 12 more to go.

A couple shots of the glass on the alley side...

^ Thank you so much for this update. I've been waiting anxiously for someone to post a clear shot of the recently installed glass.

In terms of the glass itself; I was hoping for more of a bluish tone, as was suggested by the photo I posted in the previous photo update. But, we'll see how it pans out.

It looks much more green than blue in person.

^ Does it look anything like the new facade of the Verizon Building in NYC?

Its supposed to be an aqua color, right? I remember reading that the facade is supposed to give off some sort of glass water-look.

Is this building 35 floors including the parking garage or 35 floors and then the parking garage.

Without the garage the building is 17 stories which would put it with 18 more floors to go.

With the garage the building is 23 stories with about 12 to go.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

^ Good question.

Anyway, regarding the glass: From what I understand, it's supposed to change color throughout the day. From a aqua blue during the light to a deep green in the evening.

Nice, it would add to the variety of taste in South Park, and Downtown as a whole.

vidgms, it's 35 stories total, including the parking garage. So 12 more floors to go.

As to whether it looks like the Verizon reclad in NY, that's not a bad comparison. I've seen both in person, and they're not too far off. However, there are some key differences: 1) this tower seems to have more vertical fenestration, which will help with surface relief (one of my main beefs with Verizon, which has none), and 2) this tower won't suffer from alternating floor heights, which is one reason why the Verizon reclad looks awkward at times.

As to the changing color of the glass, the article in the Downtown News stated that the color of the glass will change in a subtle way as it goes up, creating the "water" effect JDR is talking about.

What sort of impact will 717 Ninth and Concerto have on the skyline from different viewing angles?

^ Height-wise it should split the difference between TCW and Promerica Towers, so it will be visible from the south and the southeast. It should be most pronounced from the southeast, or the view that k3d posted in the rundown thread a few weeks ago. It won't be visible from the north or the west, as it will be blocked by taller towers.

There be glass going up on the 9th Street side. It's very green in the spandrel glass, but the window glass is reflective, so it gives out a bluish-green vibe. I didn't have my camera on me earlier today. I'll try to grab a shot of it tomorrow.
