Agreed. This is a fantastic set of pics. Really captures NYC's overall feel.

Especially like the Jackson Heights pics. Latin American street food heaven.

These look like garbage collectors on strike in Paris or (worse) Marseille.

Perhaps hard to deny it is the best city in the world, especially after seeing these photos. Feels more than just a glimpse, especially with garbage piled up and in every crevice. City can do better in that respect at least.

Y'all, while a little messy looking, that's just how we NY'ers leave our trash out for DSNY, particularly outside of Manhattan (look across the street at the other pile). At least it's not scattered across the street and sidewalks.

^ Then you simply need waste containers in all condo buildings.

Over here, we have 3 different kinds of trash cans in all residential buildings:

1 - those for glass that must be effectively recycled;
2 - containers for other materials supposedly recycled, like paper, cardboard, plastic and tin cans. The process to recycle those things is more complicated and wouldn't be 100% reliable, but dwellers sort their garbage anyway, so we get as many things recycled as it is possible given the current process;
3 - garbage cans for anything else, especially organic waste.

We've been used to this for long and it doesn't bother us. It is also easier to manage for garbage collectors as containers are designed to be easily handled with their trucks.

It actually works, huh. And it's nothing much to do.

I like seeing the shots of the newer supertalls, even though I think they are mostly quite strange.

I knew that these would be good and I was not disappointed. I like the mixture of the greaet, the grit, and the shit.

Some of these shots actually succeeded in reminding what it feels like to be in New York. Great work! Now I'm missing the place.

I once had an early (very rainy) weekday morning Super Shuttle ride from my hotel near Odéon to Roissy during a total RATP strike. Amazingly, I made my flight. I also tipped the driver 50 Francs which was around US$10 at the time.
