Thank you guys!
I make these by modelling the building first and matching the perspective in SketchUp, rendering it in Kerkythea, and then a lot of editing in Photoshop

Here is a quite similar view I've done some time ago— I try to work with Creative Commons-licenced photos to stay out of trouble:

Can anyone point me to an explanation/ video of how these particular kangaroo cranes jump? I couldn't find anything online that relates to these models (with the red support brackets).

Thanks in advance!

^ You may find something on youtube.

Meanwhile, it's exciting to see the second level diamond taking shape, as the building begins to reveal its form...

The next section is going to look small compared to the base. But it's just as big as all the buildings around it.

Still larger than the buildings around it, but will definitely taper to a near point like the classic skyscrapers…

[QUOTE=NYguy;9711613]^ You may find something on youtube.

I don't know what model cranes these are. My searches so far didn't turn up anything that look like these.

Eureka

Well, I did find this pretty low quality video from DCM Erectors that fits the bill...if anyone is interested - it's quite fascinating!

Article about the cranes:
https://www.americancranesandtranspo...021385.article

NYC Constructors uses a propriety internal jumping system they designed so that the cranes can jump and stay close to the working floor level.

“When tower cranes are free standing and coming up through the building it slows down construction,” Bhaskaranand said. “Large sections of floors cannot be finished. Our system keeps the crane above the turnover floor, so those levels are always 100 percent ready for the concrete per the building design.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm really looking forward to when it's tall enough that you can take them from a little farther away so we can see the building in the context of its surroundings.

This construction is unique in that the cranes are consistently raised to be just above the level they're working on. So they're never 10 stories higher than the highest floor as with other buildings. They're always 1-3 stories above, depending on the stage of construction of the highest floor.
