While on the L today, I noticed demo has started on this project.

Sorry, wasn't quick enough to snap a photo. I'll try to grab a few tomorrow.

^^ Nice. Probably my favorite residential proposal in the Market. Great density and a renovation for the Arthur Harris building. It will be a funky jewel one day soon when Aberdeen is a canyon of new highrises

Onni takes pride in being a Canadian developer and has ambitious plans for Chicago. I didn't think though that they'd make Chicago twin cities with Toronto

^ These towers are in a relatively off beaten section of downtown and aren’t representative of the vast majority of projects going up in the city.

You gotta give a nod to Toronto somewhere. Ideally in a backwater locale

Pushing another plan to save the two towers... I hope common sense prevails.

Projects like this that add to and complete a row of existing buildings (rather than demoing one to get a bigger footprint) are more satisfying to me than most of the large projects.

Agreed. Varied and diverse facades make for an interesting and engaging streetscape. Much more so than a huge development that takes up a whole block and has the same street level design along its entire footprint.

You know, buildings like that are never getting built again. It would be a terrible loss to have them replaced by nothing, which is basically what the feds want. For "safety".
