That pizza place Water + Flour has a new name at 425 West Georgia St. Probably got a cease and desist from some other restaurant with a similar name. Now called Acqua Farina

That is too bad to lose Milestone's there, but the chain wasn't what it used to be. I wonder what is going in there. It looks like the 2nd floor restaurant space in the under-construction building across the street at Cambie and Broadway is stil for lease (at least according to the signage posted on site). This was the old Original Joes before the building was demolished

That place sucked So Bad- I won some sort of free lunch ticket somehow and was appalled at how awful it was-and the much vaunted view was of dirty neighbouthood roofs and little more.

Glad to see the back of them.

I had milestones last week at Park Royal it was pretty good.

I always forget that there is a restaurant above Whole Foods in that location, it's very discrete, maybe too much so.

I'm pretty sure Cactus Club or Earls would fire people if they designed their entrance to look like that.

Well, update I was just in Whole Foods and it sounds like they are already renovating the space above. Loud and annoying, I'm sure WF is thrilled.

They're not doing well in Canada. The Okanagan locations (4) including the first location in Canada in Kelowna have all closed.. They failed in Toronto, all locations quickly shut.

I like Carl's Jr, but the cost in Canada doesn't seem to make sense for what you get. The one in Port Coquitlam especially given how it's in a weird spot, plus you can go just up the street to Five Guys and get a much better deal.

I seem to recall that one person owned the four interior locations as a franchise but was forced to sell when he fell ill.
The Kamloops location was a bit slow to serve but there always seemed to be people dining in.

I only go to the one on Dunsmuir for convenience if I'm working in the area. I've been to the one in Guildford once but never really went back after that. Their burgers are just OK in my opinion. Fatburger and 5 Guys are much better but they need more locations in the lower mainland.

I used to go to one in GP Alberta, they were good, the one on Dunsmuir downtown was pretty good and I went once to the one at Guildford and it was just awful, horrible. Haven't been to one again.

While we are talking fast food, has McDonalds changed its fries or something? they are just awful, unless they are piping hot straight out of the fryer they are horrible, I ordered some the other day and they were almost cold and they were chewy and I returned them. They should be crispy not chewy. That said Wendy's fries can get a bit cold and still taste good. Come on McDonalds you've lost it.

I went to the Carl's Jr on Dunsmuir a few years ago and ordered takeout. They packed me a burger but neglected to give me the patty. When I went back I could hear the teenagers in the back snickering and generally fucking the dog. I was so peeved I asked for my money back even when they offered to remake it.

Looks like we're going to be losing Frenchies over in the Main/Broadway/Kingsway block.
It appears to be currently on fire.

Some night shots of the new Aqua Farina restaurant at 425 W.Georgia (probably won't show up well on a phone). Looks nice:
