While the facade treatment is definitely misleads the eye as to the structural makeup of the building, I absolutely love how this building is turning out, especially at the base. It really feels like a steel building. And feels like it's been there for 70 years.

Love the style of this building. Looks more like something in NYC (if it weren't a podium, but just talking about styles). More like this please...

The depth of the facade is phenomenal. I assumed that would have been one of the first things to be VE'd out. So happy it remained.

The rhythm of the facade divisions on the podium is wonderful. Such a simple treatment that does wonders.

I dare say that this is one of the best looking skyscrapers going up in any American city at the moment.

What $23,000 a month gets you in Fulton Market
ALBY GALLUN

Quote:
Want to live in one of the highest apartments in the Fulton Market District? It’ll cost you as much $23,275 a month.

That’s what Chicago developer Related Midwest is asking for the most expensive penthouse unit in the Row Fulton Market, a 294-unit luxury rental tower slated to open in June in the up-and-coming neighborhood. At 43 stories, it’s the tallest building in Fulton Market, which has exploded with apartment, office and hotel projects over the past decade.
Quote:
The high-rise at 164 N. Peoria St. includes six penthouse apartments on its 42nd and 43rd floors that include 12-foot ceilings, large outdoor terraces and sweeping views of the Chicago skyline. With rents ranging from $14,395 to $23,275 a month, they’re not for the hoi polloi, but Related Midwest has already leased one of the penthouses and received an application for another...
Quote:
Related Midwest signed 50 leases in the first month. The developer has also received more than 2,000 applications for 60 low-cost apartments in the building
Quote:
Rents for non-penthouse units will range from $2,585 per month for a studio to $9,735 for a three-bedroom unit, according to real estate data provider CoStar Group. Rents will exceed $4.00 per square foot

I believe both NEMA and Old Town Park penthouses are north of $30k per month

I'm not sure about NEMA (I thought it was more like $25K), but OTP has that one massive unit with the private outdoor lap pool, so that's not surprising.
