Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Tuesday announced plans for what officials say is the state’s first free-standing children’s rehabilitation hospital in the state.

The hospital, which is expected to cost $60 million, is a partnership between Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, according to a joint news release from the two healthcare organizations.
