I added a whopping 5' to the height based on the latest elevations that were added to the site plan.

The sign is not on the elevations. It looks like the mechanical screen got a little taller.

I can see a subtle nod to the Cambridge Tower's design. The facade texture and the arches at the top.

This is awesome. Love everything about it, from the street interaction to the aesthetic. I really think there needs to be more effort to connect up the Drag to downtown. The MLK crossing sucks for pedestrians. Seems like a huge opportunity to extend one of our best mixed-use corridors. The restaurant/retail here should go a long way.

Also, would be cool to see more brick like this in this neighborhood around the capitol. Definitely gives the hood a statelier, more timeless feel.

I was wondering at first why the blank walls (albeit with the painted signs) on the back were facing MLK at first, but then realized it actually faces 18th to the south and the Rasing Canes and gas station are on MLK. Makes a lot more sense. Even so, this is great!

All three non-UT owned corners of the Drag/MLK intersection should eventually be getting hotel towers as well, although off chance UT purchases them for new construction. Too busy for residential and wrong location for office.

Love the new proposed tower! Can we get another 20 or 30 of these throughout downtown and west campus plus another 30 or 40 half size models of this in the inner neighborhoods along key corridors?

The street level restaurant and bar would be only the fourth street level storefront on Guadalupe between 7th & MLK. The Linden will also add 5000 square feet more of storefronts on the corridor but that’s still a large gap to fill with pedestrian activity with parking garages, office buildings, and historic homes that have to be torn down, relocated, or retrofitted. The better pedestrian connection exists from West Campus and the Drag to Downtown via The Capitol Mall and Congress Avenue.

The DC approved the Density Bonus - no surprise. But they did have some complaints about public interaction with the ground floor.

I'd love to see North Lamar lined with these on both sides from the Triangle to 183, giving a Woodward Ave sort of feel. (and bury those awful high voltage lines)
