34th Ave and what street? Do you mean the top of the 4th St hill? Parkhill?

You mean Parkhill? Absolutely.

Re: FC's photos of South Calgary infills...those are so amazing! I would love to own one of those! I really like the use of wood, glass and/or stone to break up some of the boxiness of the structures! If I only had a million or so to plunk down on one of those...sigh!

MASSIVE hole in Mount Royal! Big enough to be a condo project.
Marquette Way? I think.. Off of Premier Way.

Don't see any permits for a condo of any sort on Marquette Street, just a couple relaxations and retaining walls. I'd wonder if that site you shot is the ~8000 sq foot geothermal powered house that was on the news the other day.

If you search these coordinates on google maps you'll see a house with a million dollar retaining wall. He's building a tennis court in the back with showers, a squash court in the basement, and the property all together is at least 6 million(my guess.) I was working at the other day.

My son had a ball game in Parkdale Tuesday evening. What a beautiful day to watch ball but I digress. Anyway, I drive through Parkdale every day along Memorial/Parkdale Blvd and see all the infill housing being build along and near the main road. What I did not know was how much developement has happened throughout the entire neighborhood. There are new houses pretty much on every street, and some real beauties at that. Parkdale appears to be a neighborhood that is undergoing a transformation / rejunivation. I was very impressed with what I saw. I could easily see myself living there, the only thing holding me back is about half a million $$$ which is what I am probably short of to buy in that area. Give or take a few hundred thousand.

WOW--Now that's compact---this single family house can potentially have a garden on top of a rear attached garage.

Homes like "1909" in the above photo are so cool, so modern! LOVE it! (Reminds me of some of the new builds in Japan, especially in places like Tokyo).

Love the photos!

I was up on edmonton trail and centre street for the first time in a few years. Its actually quite impressive what has been done with infill, particularily just a block or two off of the two main strips. I think its infils like those, and the ones in the pics from bankview, that make a bigger impact on the urbanity of the city than the huge high density towers of the beltline.

My thoughts exactly. Imagine the impact of a few more years worth of infills on center street, that area could really use it.

I like the small to medium projects (10-30 units, 2-5 storeys) Those developments can really urbanize a city.

In my mind Bankview and South Calgary's type of diversity and density is how Hillhurst/Sunnyside should be - with the exception of a few larger projects along 10th street or 14th street. Same for Bridgeland or Inglewood.
