I agree there shouldn't be TOO MUCH parking, but a reasonable number of structured parking is a good thing, especially if it's well-hidden from street level. Especially in Lakeview East, where street parking is already damn near nonexistent. We can talk about transit from here till eternity, but not everyone uses transit, and major retail streets like Broadway need to attract as many people as possible to keep everyone's doors open for business.
Wrigley is a bit of a different beast. That being said, don't pretend there's no parking there. Just expensive parking on lots of private lots that are never open outside of game days (save for the one adjacent to the police substation on Addison.)
I agree about Comiskey, though of course the old ballpark had plenty of parking as well, didn't it? It could and should have been located better and have additional development built around it, no doubt about it.
