I really like this tower a lot, I want Chicago to have more tall curves.

[RIP Spire]

For as much a Chicago loves being a city of boxes and boxy tubes, and combinations of boxy tubes, it seems that much of the constantly talked about eye candy comes from curvy towers - 333 Wacker, Trump, Marina City, Lake Point, 311 Wacker, River Point, Vista and Aqua to an extent, etc... The Bean

but curves aren't always profit maximizing. See: 151 N Franklin's VE edit

I think it's a mixed bag, Chicago has many, many celebrated buildings, most of them not curvy.

Nice pic. Building makes it presence felt and looks girthy in this shot.

Its starting to look more graceful as it gains height... or maybe its just that specific perspective... either way, looking great!

Yeah from some angles the tower is a nice juxtaposition to all the post modernist towers in the area. Almost reminds me of 1 South Halsted or The Parker. But then again from other angles it just confused. Not looking forward to that crown especially

It really should have been tapered vertically more than it is. Or avoid the crown altogether. As it stands, it's a Trump Tower slashed in half by a katana. More OMP than Burj Khalifa.

With buildings added since then, next census will probably show from 22k to 55k. That's pretty high, but there would still be hundreds of tracts around the country that are higher.

^ Thanks for the kind words. I work with and have access to vantage points at about 80 city high-rises. Follow YoChicago on Flickr to see a lot more of our photos.
