(Sorry guys can't post the renderings until I get back to my Mac)

Thanks. I wasn't at all sure what kind of reaction I would get from it. I was trying for something iconic that would stand out. Cope started it by pushing in some glass part way up the building on one side and it gave me the sense of an eroding rock or crystal formation so I continued the idea of an eroding butte that was organically crumbling and this is where we ended up. Makes for some very nice outdoor terraces at the top as well.

That's awesome. I bet most of the people on this forum have done something similar, be it with legos or paper models or something else. Built a vision we saw in our heads and then imagined it as an actual building.

The fact you've gotten to do that for real is quite astounding.

I'm also excited to hear that it's maxed out for the height. While I'm not obsessed with height like some people, that's +64ft over RatR, which should be enough to really differentiate the two on the skyline. I was afraid they'd look too much like one superlarge blocky element.

I don't like it.

I LOVE IT!

Thank you, blenfest, summers, and Aaamazarite. Now THAT is the kind of forward-thinking architecture I'd love to see more of in Philadelphia. Can't wait to see this stunner going up along with other prominent beauties like CITC and FMC

Amazing what you can do with some Legos.

And great to see new and interesting skyscraper architecture starting (hopefully) to really take hold in Philly (again).

aah what the heck, the rendering is worth repeating!

I have a question? Maybe it's too much to ask, or maybe I'm being silly, but is it going to have that "cloud" effect in the glass, or is that just supposed to be the reflection? I know I'm asking a lot, it doesn't matter.I still love the top, and the overall design. Thank You for thinking "outside of the box" !

First, thanks to Brook for participating--it's pretty cool and unique that he did this.

Second, this is a very, very neat design. It takes the Philly Special and deconstructs it. I hope the textural facade components are as pronounced and deep as they look. I love the setback from 15th street.

Third, some thoughts: The Blue skin is very similar to the dark blue skin of RATR--if this trends even slightly darker than this rendering the two profiles will merge on the skyline and it will come off as derivative in person. Next, the deconstructed crown builds random and wonderfully--however it seems to terminate abruptly at the 'W'. Because of the build, imo a thin, elegant architectural spire, centered over the 'W' would help finish the crowns "build." With the spire and crown glowing at night, you'd have created a signature skyline building.

I'm also eager to learn how this greets the street--restaurant space, retail space, outdoor cafe space, etc.

Edit: For example:

^^^That to me is more complete.

Gotta agree with your addition of the Spire for design completeness, kind of PSFSish, but I believe there is a height limit here because of the proximity to City Hall. What a shame. But I still like the design overall...would there be any public access to the fab terracces or restaurant/observation level, blenfest? Thanks for involving this forum.
