Riverside and San Bernardino can't be that far behind, no? Or is this part of metro LA that much cheaper than the coast?

And in the name of silly, irrelevant, local rivalries, this is the first time I've seen Middlesex MA ahead of Fairfield CT.

Why is Kings and Queens NY low on the list?

How do people live on an average weekly wage of $1,132 in Brooklyn/Kings, NY?

This has nothing to do with where people live. It's where people work.

I'd imagine low income workers get by easier in NYC than basically anywhere in the U.S., given that housing, food, medical, daycare and transportation are essentially free in NYC if you're low income. Much, much "cheaper" to be poor in NYC than in Mississippi.

Ahh that makes sense. I went through the list probably 3 or 4 times to double check what I thought I was seeing.

Jobs located in Brooklyn and Queens aren't typically high-wage. Almost all of the high wage earners that live in Brooklyn earn their paychecks in Manhattan.
