Eleven is going to be such a great project. Tallest residential building in Minnesota. Designed by Sterns. A real classical beauty. The fact that the developer has hinted that there may be another building down the road gives me hope that it could even be taller. Let's hope.

So it looks like Alia 2.0 property was bought by CA Ventures from Alatus and decided to pretty much keep the same design but lower it from 40 stories to 27 stories. It looks rather squat now but will still be very nice infill for that side of the river which has done very nicely over the past decade. Almost a skyline of it's own. Still a 40 story tower over there really would have capped it nicely.

As I've pointed out in another forum, this stretch of road needs an update big time. It was like this before the LRT nearly 20 years ago and it hasn't changed a bit except for maybe some cracking and falling wall tiles. I can't believe they can't add a few trees. The sidewalk is certainly wide enough, not to mention how about some seasonal and very colorful kiosks. Farmers market for 8 months a year, Holiday and warm coffee kiosks when colder. I just don't get why the sidewalks in Minneapolis are so drab, other than the fact the skyways rob pedestrian traffic but as you can see the LRT station is on the next block over, people must walk this stretch. Come on Minneapolis be better.

35 story and 15 story North Loop Green receive approval. The highest buildings in this area will be game changers. Love the connection to the LRt and the Northstar Commuter train. Whoop!!!

A mixed-use building with 95 apartment units and two commercial spaces could rise from a Lake & Harriet parking lot.

Plans are still tentative for the six-story building, which would go on the site of a used-car sales lot on the south side of Lake Street, next to the Schatzlein Saddle Shop. The project is being pitched by North Bay Companies and designed by DJR Architecture.

It's disgusting how few people come on this and post anything. This metro is 2-3 times bigger than OKC and yet it has more posts and views. I mean I go to other cities and make favorable comments but yet no one comes here. Blah.

Nice updates! Looks like a lot is going on in Minneapolis! Trust me OKC is not interesting at all, but someone in that thread got good at posting similar updates over and over to keep at it at the top.

It’s official. After nearly a century in a place of prominence in St. Paul’s Highland Park neighborhood, Ford Motor Co. has sold the 122-acre site.

Here's another article:

The closing signals the next major step in the redevelopment, which has been in the planning stages for over 10 years. Once developed, the project site will contain approximately 3,040 market rate housing units, 760 affordable housing units, 265,000 square feet of office space, 150,000 square feet of retail space and 50,000 square feet of civic or institutional space. The project also features over 55 acres of public and open space including four new City Parks and the preservation of two little league ballfields.

Indeed a huge project. When finished it will be a town within a town and all along the riverfront. Now if only they could somehow get a street car connection to the LRT or to the potential 7th street street car project. No matter what I'm sure it will have a great bus service.

An Uptown-based development company is planning to build a six-story, 174-unit apartment building at the site of the former Arby’s restaurant on Lake Street.

Developer plans apartments for Arby’s site

If approved, the building would have nearly 4,000 feet of street-level commercial space and 156 parking stalls for residents within two levels of underground parking. It would also have nine enclosed street-level parking spots to be used either by residents or retail customers.

This building is coming along nicely. The last pictures I've seen is it had one more story higher to go. My only hope is they jazz up the outside significantly as it is a very prominent location.

A $23 million reconstruction, including a new four-lane bridge with a pedestrian path, should mean smoother travels for motorists, cyclists and walkers, according to county planners. The Legislature allocated $20.5 million for the interchange in 2017.

Hopes are high for repairing bottleneck at I-694 and Rice Street
Roundabouts, redevelopment are in the works for outdated Ramsey County interchange.

Wayzata's downtown shoreline plaza construction set for March
Formerly called the Lake Effect, the project has been renamed Panoway on Wayzata Bay.

http://www.startribune.com/wayzata-s...rch/566501832/

Wayzata is preparing to begin transforming the area into something more visually appealing: a $22 million beautification project funded by the city, state, Three Rivers Parks District and private donations.

North Loop mixed-use project with 36-story apartment tower clears historic preservation hurdle
The project would occupy an area next to Target Field that has been mostly surface parking lots and a transit hub.

http://www.startribune.com/north-loo...dle/566494452/

One of the biggest mixed-use projects in the Twin Cities development pipeline received a nod last week from the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC).

Houston-based Hines wants to build North Loop Green, which is to include a 36-story apartment tower with 450 rental apartments and a 14-story, 339,000-square-foot office tower on the west edge of downtown Minneapolis.
