I don’t care about his address or house. Just want to know which metro he’s going to live in. That’s it.

Obviously he'll choose the great estates of Pflugerville. West Lake ain't got NOTHING on us.

P.S. that was a joke. A very lame one.

I would be more than happy to sell him my 5 bedroom half acre estate, if the price is right. That is if he doesn't mind living in Round Rock.

Yeah you're right. He sold all his possessions. He'll rent then. I'll rent out a bedroom in my house to him then....kitchen priveleges, private bath, wifi....what more could he want? Only five miles from the toll road too to get to the gigafactory

RR is very nice. Kalahari impresses me. Austin really has a nice metro. I can't believe all the growth for a city Austin's size it's nuts.

Congrats Austin.

You got a good one. First Musk, then his foundation, and now his companies will follow suit in the next couple of years.

We can't confirm he moved to Austin though, right?

It's funny, the Tesla plant in Fremont just 2 exits away from my house lol and some of my friends even saw him walking around the plant.

Hopefully Elon can bring Hyperloop from ATX to Dallas, Houston and San Antonio one day... wishful thinking

Elon has nothing to do with hyper loop. He builds underground taxi queues.

It’s Austin

Quote:
It's official. Elon Musk is now a resident of Austin, Texas. And he's got a message for California.

The 49-year-old billionaire spoke from Austin, where Palo Alto-based Tesla is building a factory. Another of Musk's companies, SpaceX, also has an operation in Texas, a launch facility in Boca Chica. Casually dressed, Musk had a little cowboy spirit with a black bandana tied around his neck.

"Yes, I have moved to Texas," he said.

So — has anything heard anything about WeWork yet? They’re building Austin’s first super tall! Surely that has to mean a major Austin investment is forthcoming....?

I’ve been periodically searching the Googs and can’t come up with anything.

From the Austin Business Journal (Archived to get around the paywall.)

Longevity chooses Austin as launchpad for effort to make US real estate more sustainable, equitable - Étienne Cadestin is relocating to Austin from London to set up the U.S. headquarters for his firm, Longevity Partners, which advises other businesses on environmental, social and corporate governance issues.

Quote:
Add another name to the list of CEOs banking on the rising prominence of Austin: Étienne Cadestin, founder and chief executive of Longevity Partners Ltd., a firm that advises real estate investors on hot-button environmental and social issues.

Cadestin is starting small in the Texas capital — his firm has leased coworking space in the 500 West 2nd Street tower — but he believes all the right elements are here to build a globe-spanning business.

Longevity, based in the United Kingdom, works with giant investment managers such as The Blackstone Group Inc. (NYSE: BX) and BlackRock Inc. (NYSE: BLK). Cadestin said his firm has about $120 billion of assets under certification management

Much of Longevity's work has been in Europe. But Cadestin has long wanted to establish a foothold in the United States. He said Austin beat out Portland, Salt Lake City and Miami because of its lower cost of living relative to the coasts, its attractiveness for recruiting and its appetite for sustainability and "developing a green community."

He added that the Central Time Zone was convenient when he had to call Europe, and that Austin's location was relatively close by air to the East and West coasts.

Oracle announced they're moving their HQ to Austin.

SEC filing: https://www.sec.gov/ix?doc=/Archives...q_20201130.htm

edit:

Quote:
Oracle is implementing a more flexible employee work location policy and has changed its Corporate Headquarters from Redwood City, California to Austin, Texas. We believe these moves best position Oracle for growth and provide our personnel with more flexibility about where and how they work. Depending on their role, this means that many of our employees can choose their office location as well as continue to work from home part time or all of the time. In addition, we will continue to support major hubs for Oracle around the world, including those in the United States such as Redwood City, Austin, Santa Monica, Seattle, Denver, Orlando and Burlington, among others, and we expect to add other locations over time. By implementing a more modern approach to work, we expect to further improve our employees’ quality of life and quality of output.

Nice find. It seems more like a change of address than a movement of assets. Hopefully we'll get more news soon.
