Phoenix Rising FC soccer club will now play games in Phoenix

So confused. I thought Wild Horse Pass Casino built the current complex there for the Rising? That being said, excellent temporary central location and right in front of a light rail stop

Yes! It's up to the voters. They will make a decision. Let them vote! Please vote Yes.

38th Street / Washington light rail station. This is at the site of the old dog tracing track, which has been more recently used for a swap meet.

If this helps, this will be their third "cardboard" stadium. They were at the 202 and McClintock Northeast Corner then down in Maricopa on the Res and now this.
They need a big bopper owner who can build a mini dome and get them into the the MLS not this mickey mouse league.

They were in Maricopa? Didn’t know that, only knew the WHP location.

Correct, they were at Wild Horse Pass, not Maricopa.

I'm guessing it mostly had to do with the sports gambling problem on the res.

Also being in downtown is far better for attracting west siders to games.

Close enough! That's kind of like saying the Diamondbacks Spring Training home is on the res and someone else saying it's in Scottsdale.
Peace out!

WHP is 20 mins away from Maricopa. Not really a comparison to SRF which is litterally across the street from Scottsdale.

Crested, you must drive a little slower then I. It's less then 9 miles from Wild Horse pass to Maricopa. I do that on that highway in about 8 minutes. LOL
So rounding it off they moved from the 202 and McClintock to Maricopa, (errr Wild Horse Pass), and now to the old Greyhound Park site all in 3 years. That is one "traveling" team.

Tempe city council has agree for Arizona Coyotes. You can vote. Now it’s up to the voters. Please vote yes!

No thanks this is a no vote household as someone who lives down the street this is a horrible location and will turn the neighbor into a giant airbnb.

I literally have no idea why anyone south of Broadway should get to vote on this. It's not like this is going to affect South Tempe residents at all when folks to the north will have to deal with the repercussions.

If nothing else the plan includes $200m in bonds/tax breaks on which all Tempe residents should have a say.

I didn't realize they were also issuing bonds, which are a terrible idea for a private project. Cities only have so much bonding capacity and it's foolish to tie it up for this.
