Any updated photos? Why does this one feel like it's dragging?

Nah, the corner there where the entrance is seems to be taking a long time, but from my vantage looking over it the leased interior floors are almost complete. All the lighting is in, spaces looked finished for the most part, exterior is all done except that entry way.

I'm ready for them to get that entry way and sidewalk wrapped up so us pedestrians can have it back.

While walking by, I noticed the different columns, round facing west (left side of pic) and square facing south (right side of pic).

Can someone explain the thought process behind the two different column types? Is it meant to invoke nearby buildings?

I believe it's just that one had to be a bit larger because it's carrying significantly more weight as you can see in the photo below.

They finally took down all the pedestrian coverings on the sidewalks. Working like mad this morning, it's still a gravel mess on the ground, but the building areas look fairly complete, I assume they'll put the sidewalk areas together quick and the immediate surroundings can get back to normal.

Is walgreens going back in the first floor? When they closed that dump Walgreens a few years ago I remember the mantra was that they were going to re-open in the new building once complete. I only remember because I work across the street so I was hoping they came back.

The finish on that column looks weird in person. It's like a highly polished stainless steel like the bean in Millennium Park. The reflections are a little off-putting imho. Anyone else get the same impression or is it just me?

Have nott been there in person yet but that corner shot across street is looking good. Gives that corner some flash that has been lacking since walgreens construction. But I can see people thinking "too much" with that support beam coating. This lobby and lower exterior is giving me a Citadel vibe.

this looks like complete shit at street level. Another building using those grey (Tile Backsplach Pattern as someone called it) panels, what are those made of? Aluminum? Why are those so popular in Chicago?

^ I’m suprised to see that on an office building too, usually they are more common in shitty apartment buildings.

Too many elements thrown together, it's a fucking mess. And yes...that shiny column stands out in a bad way. Hopefully it looks slightly better when it's all cleaned up and occupied.

Ah, you are correct, that makes it much better in my opinion. The overall look is a cluster, but better than those aluminum panels going up elsewhere.

Stone use nonetheless, this is still is a very meh development IMHO. Another cookie cutter 500-600 foot blue box in the Loop. Whoop-de-doo.

Literally the only element that stands out here is the red CNA logo.

I almost prefer that it is cookie cutter at this height, otherwise it would be a shame for a 550 foot tall building with amazing design to completely hidden by bigger buildings that surround it.

^ Sure, we wouldn't want a centerpiece building to be hidden away from view. But that doesn't necessarily mean we need to settle for mediocrity just because a specific location isn't prolific.

I suppose at the same time this building did replace a crap Walgreens. And we've also could've gotten something with a repulsive design, so screw it. I'll keep my complaining to a minimum.
