Photo taken 3 pm today (6/26).

Whatever that thing on top of the scaffolding is, it was apparently delivered by helicopter on Sunday.

Yawn.

Ho hum filler that will probably doom 130 N Franklin, or push it back to the next development cycle. The latter is probably our best hope. :-/

Walked by this on my way to work this morning. It's amazing that a 500+ tower is completely invisible until you are within a block of it. I will say that I am reserving judgement on it until I see the lobby completed. At the very least, it's a vast improvement over that Walgreen's and parking lot.

^ Yes. Even if you call this some 500 ft filler, it's still a vast improvement over this:

It is crazy isn't it? I work across the street and of course walk all around this thing every day, and it's just damn near invisible. With the other blue glass buildings and the way this is so highly reflective of the sky and has no other architectural details - it's a literal block - it just blends in.

Sometimes I look up and suddenly see it hulking there and for a second think, wow, where'd that come from? It changes the views in that area, but you have to really stop and think about it to realize.

It's way better than the Walgreens, but for 500 feet it's COMPLETELY uninspiring. I can't think of many other buildings that are so entirely forgetful.

I like it. It's so reflective it's like a canvas that's constantly changing. Imagine seeing a sunset or a lightning strike reflected off of it. Super cool. And it's very modern looking at the same time. Thumbs up from me.

I don't see why architects and developers try to build things like this in Chicago, when they know the budget doesn't allow for high enough quality façade materials.

Are you one of those people who thinks that everything a developer does is for aesthetics? There's tons of people who think this way out there without any regard for actual business "things."

How much better can those reflections be? It doesn't look like some of the Saran Wrap glass out there. I don't see the glass as the issue.
To me the mirror buildings are negative architecture. They're like a big hole in the cityscape, they're invisible.
