I would consider these renderings as accurate as they can be, the development team worked very closely with the neighborhood to get it approved.

What's a reasonable estimated date as to when McKinley Green may break ground based on this latest update?

1st Review is running about 60 days for building permits, 2-4 weeks of revisions, 2nd Review is about 30 days, so I would safely say about 4 months till permit. That doesn't mean they don't start rough grading, and utility work prior, but I would say sometime in July for full building permit release.

Thanks Crested and gymratmanaz gymrat! I was in Columbus for 10 years - not too far from Downtown. I was awed by the Short North revitalization before we left, so it’s super nice to have Roosevelt Row so close!

Isn't this the same property where Astra is going or directly next to it?

Ah great catch. The address listed is totally off.

McKinley Green is going up N of McKinley St, between 1st and 2nd Aves.

The address is actually correct. I checked the Assessors records. North of McKinley are 800+ address numbers with 700+ just south. The Astra parcel is actually mid-300s North, but if you type in the address 805 N 2nd Ave in Google Maps, you get shown the Astra parcel.

I guess Google maps is not always perfect.

Wow...you're right. That's a first...Google Maps is never wrong. Apple Maps on the other hand...

Check it out. ABC15 article about housing growth in downtown. Two things strike me. One is the awesome updated pic of downtown (trying to figure out how to get the high resolution version if any of you internet sleuths want to help out). The other is the 2 paragraphs mentioning Chase Tower...

jk. But awesome teaser on Chase. My money is on those renderings as well. Therefore, the Apple Store must be real too LOL

Google just estimates. On that side of central between Van Buren and Fillmore it starts at 300+ then it starts at 600 between Fillmore and McKinley, then 800+ up to Roosevelt.

It goes up by the 100s on the east side of Central cause there's square blocks, not the long blocks on the west.

I agree Met is a big hindrance, but it's really those big blacktop lots between 1st and Central that are creating the largest part of the gap. This may change soon though with two tower developments being proposed. Let's hope this happens!

Kennect has a big L like that too. It just looks good since it has cladding and is partially covered by Freeport.

Really, the city needs to step up and hold developers accountable for this stuff. Yes, it's "possible" Angles could get redeveloped someday. But I'll give it 10 years before that comes close to happening as I don't think Matt is in any hurry to retire or close up.

In the meantime, we will have an eyesore looking at Derby from this angle. It should be a code requirement to clad blank facing walls or at least use them as a canvas for a mural or even just advertising.
