An Ithaca Times article about the housing crisis in Ithaca and some possible (?) solutions:

A couple of articles from the Ithaca Voice.

First about the Nines building in Collegetown. I feel for the current owners:

Two articles from the Ithaca Times.

The first is the proposed move and expansion of a local food market co-op (Greenstar):

http://www.ithaca.com/news/ithaca/gr...15e4e5a10.html

The second is an extensive look at the Tompkins County Area Development group. Lots of interesting info and also concerns about future development:

An in depth article from the Ithaca Voice about upcoming issues for the Planning Board (yikes):

Article from the Ithaca Voice regarding the possible future of the Ithaca Valley (an area south of the city of Ithaca actually in the Town of Ithaca)

https://ithacavoice.com/2018/02/itha...-inlet-valley/

The area in question is located between the Buttermilk Falls State Park (entrance in the upper right of the picture below) and Robert H Treman State Park (entrance in the lower left corner of the picture).

Several entries from the Ithacating blog. Construction updates from projects on East Hill, pictures included.

Starting out with three projects in the Collegetown area:

Starting with a new smaller apartment building on Linden Ave.

https://ithacating.com/2018/02/18/21...update-2-2018/

Next is the site of the old Chapter House bar on Stewart Avenue (and an apartment building next door) which were lost to fire several years ago http://news.cornell.edu/stories/2015...pter-house-pub

https://ithacating.com/2018/02/18/40...update-2-2018/

Then there's a new apartment building on Dryden Road, the Lux.

https://ithacating.com/2018/02/19/th...update-2-2018/

Lastly there's a huge project underway a few blocks east of Collegetown. Maplewood is a housing project for Cornell students providing over 800 beds. Plenty of info and pics.

Very cool. Lots of progress being made there. City Centre seems like an appropriate scale for that lot, and the way it takes advantage of the grade change is interesting. Is structural steel more common than all-concrete structures in Ithaca currently?
