Reports are that the CF Champlain TRU is still open, so this seems to be a tiff between TRU and Primaris.

FYI, swung by Regent today after work, and TRU was open, business as usual. So whatever hiccup was in play was resolved and all seems good now.

*This following info is current (as of November 20th, 2021). So info may have changed at the time you are reading this.*

If there is any info that I've missed please let me know.

  • Unit: L002 (436sf) *empty food court spot. Former KFC.*
  • Unit: E027C (1,124sf) *Former Karma Spa. (However there are signs posted saying "temporary stop work order". So something is/was trying to open at this unit. Stay tuned).*
  • Unit: J005B (2,341sf) *empty. Next to American Eagle*
  • Unit: F005A (2,508sf) *empty. Next to Foot Locker and The Children's Place. Being used as a staff break room for employees that work inside the mall.*

Bringing this to the mall thread since it affects 2 of the 3 big malls in NB.

Seems a bit surprising they aren't going to Moncton as well; maybe Champlain didn't have an appropriate space available for them?

I wonder too where they'll go in Regent; Regent doesn't have many empty spots. If they only have a small footprint, they could probably go in next to the Food Court. The "Excess Seating" spot next to the bathrooms used to be the Foot Locker store, so it has history as a shoe store.

Regent Mall confirmed in a comment on Facebook that it will be going in the spot where Country Lane/Payless Shoe Source used to be.

Quarks is also coming to Regent mall, in the spot next to the Bell store. Saw the construction barrier up and the Quarks branding for an October opening just today.

Updated CRU numbers (May 2022) from Primaris who own and manage the Regent and McAlllister malls in Fredericton and Saint John respectively:

- Regent Mall (Fredericton) - $609 psf
- McAllister Place (Saint John) -$457 psf

CF Champlain (Moncton) lists that facility at $600 psf but suspect this may not be updated so should be used with caution when comparing to the Primaris numbers

Regent Mall has officially announced that Lululemon will be opening this Fall. I think they would be a nice addition to McAllister Place as well.

McAllister Place: $473 (November 2022).

Regent Mall: $631 (November 2022).

Not surprised sales per square foot are increasing. I have certainly found CF Champlain busier recently - pretty much back to pre pandemic levels.

The latest CRU Productivity/Sales Per Square Foot numbers have been released online for all 3 big NB malls.
  • CF Champlain, (Dieppe): $754. (was $748 in April, so increased $6 per square foot).
  • Regent Mall, (Fredericton): $673. (was $673 in April, so stayed the same).
  • McAllister Place, (Saint John): $509. (was $506 in April. So it increased $3 per square foot).

Just a summary of recent store openings (2022/2023) at McAllister Place as well as upcoming openings. Overall the mall is doing pretty well, the sales per square foot numbers are up in the 500's, (before it was always in the low-mid 400's). And vacant spaces are being filled up, not many smaller spaces are left and mainly just the large former H&M space is left to be leased. Wonder if we will see that space divided up for multiple tenants? It's almost 20,000sq.ft of space. Overall looks like Primaris is working very hard to bring in new businesses to the mall, especially as of recent.

The latest CRU Productivity/Sales Per Square Foot numbers have been released online for all 3 big NB malls. These numbers are for the month of July 2023.
  • CF Champlain, (Dieppe): $761. (was $758 in June, so increased $3 per square foot).
  • Regent Mall, (Fredericton): $668. (was $678 in June, so a decrease of $10 per square foot).
  • McAllister Place, (Saint John): $527. (was $512 in June. So increased $15 per square foot).

Body Shop closing their Moncton and SJ shop. Fredericton survives the first purge but I doubt the company lives much longer.
