The City Commission will consider an updated version of those plans on June 6, with the developer seeking to boost the residential density of the site from 25 units per acre to 50 units per acre. This would permit 495 residential units in two buildings on the western portion of the site, in what is now a parking lot, plus 100,338 square feet of office space and 38,617 square feet of retail. The developer would also enhance the fountain on the site and surround it with outdoor dining and retail vendors.
The tallest building would be 24 stories. The application doesn’t include a detailed site plan yet.
Unlike the previous plan, none of the three existing office buildings would be removed.
Miami-based attorney Michael J. Marrero, who represents the developer in the application, couldn’t be reached for comment. Miami-based Zyscovich Architects designed the project.
