It's pretty much the same, the setbacks are slightly different.

It looks the same as it does in prior renderings. I wish they designed a defined crown.

I’m glad to see 175 Park in there.

Hmm okay. As long as it's still 1,050 ft.I

Glad to see the other massings here as well. Especially my favorite 175 Park. Though every time I see it I want the original height back.

You’re looking at a massing.

930 ft then? Besides I don't know about accurate heights from these models, just looking at 1 Vanderbilt and comparing it to 175 Park Avenue. Maybe that's just my eyes though

Only in NY can people be disappointed by a 900’+ tower. Atlanta, Dallas, etc would be over the moon with that, and they’d be proclaiming that they’re now a real city.

Isn’t the new tower only about 900k sf? If so, I wonder if BP will build on spec.

They haven’t given an indication that they would, but who knows.

Not only is this tower not that big, but I assume that the floorplates are small, which would make it suitable to small financial firms and law firms.

Demolition Continues For KPF-Designed Skyscraper At 343 Madison Avenue In Midtown East, Manhattan

Quote:
The 11th-tallest building on our December construction countdown is 343 Madison Avenue, a 49-story commercial skyscraper in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Boston Properties, the 844-foot-tall structure will yield 750,400 square feet of office space, ground-floor retail, and multiple cellar levels. The steel-framed building will rise from a plot bound by East 45th Street to the north, East 44th Street to the south, and Madison Avenue to the west.

A great deal of progress has occurred on the demolition of the site’s current occupant since our last update a year ago, when the 15-story former headquarters of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) still stood at its full height. The building has steadily been dismantled and currently stands just a handful of stories above street level. Demolition could wrap up in early 2023, followed by the start of excavation.

The site is located within close proximity of Grand Central Terminal, providing convenient access to the 4, 5, 6, 7, and Shuttle trains as well as the Metro-North commuter rail.

343 Madison Avenue is anticipated to be finished by 2026.

It’s odd that this project isn’t on BP’s or KPF’s websites.

So Grand Central Madison opened on wednesday, and so far from what I’vecseen, the biggest complaints have been about navigating the station. I don’t think people (media included) realize that the intended access to the new terminal isn’t primarily from the current (old) terminal. The name hasn’t given it away, as it was intended. Butvuntil these new entrances in these new buildings are open, people will have to figure it out.

That being said, the entrance here will be finished begore tower construction, so there is a sense of getting it open.

Another built-to-last building demolished and replaced by a toothpick and glass tower with a design that will look dated before construction wraps. Wheeeee.
