Except it sits on a superblock smothering the train station underneath it. I fail to see how those two are the same thing.

One street below a bidirectional street. Somehow I think the impact to emergency response would be minimal.

It's not "smothering" the train station underneath. Penn Station is underground, and Madison Square Garden is elevated. It may be lost on a lot of people, but current plans will give Penn not one, but 3 new daylit train halls, possibly 4 depending on the design of the train hall expansion south. All with the Garden still in place.

Yeah, Vandy is a big boy. The hotel is for the most part gone. Vornado doesn’t have a start date for what it will build there.

You guys are laughing now but Jacksonville will soon assume its rightful place as the largest and most important city on Earth.

I heard the UN is moving its HQ there. The eiffel tower is moving there soon as well. Elon Musk even decided he didnt want to go to mars anymore after visiting.

Pic by me. Taken today. Its so nice seeing the ESB.

Penn Station is such a cluster F right now with all of this construction with respect to pedestrian flow. Its all over the place.

It’s only going to get worse, but it’ll be worth it in the end. The good news is that the retail on the newly expanded 33rd St concourse is starting to open.
